Cloud application platform Vercel is gradually rolling out Device Bound Session Credentials on its platform, BleepingComputer reported on November 4, 2026. The security feature acts as a primary defense against information stealer malware by binding authentication sessions to specific devices. [1]
The new protections apply directly to logins on vercel.com, where software developers manage web projects, applications, and deployments. BleepingComputer reported that private keys used by the system cannot be retrieved by Vercel, users, or malicious software. The feature currently functions on Google Chrome running on macOS and Windows operating systems. [1]
As FTMQ Security reported earlier, stolen session tokens remain a major threat vector for enterprise platforms. In an October 2026 report, researchers observed hackers using replayed session tokens to compromise Microsoft 365 accounts across 79 organizations, resulting in nearly 500 unauthorized sign ins. [4]
Vercel is an American cloud application company that creates and maintains the Next.js web development framework. Software engineers Guillermo Rauch, Tony Kovanen, and Naoyuki Kanezawa founded the firm as Zeit in 2015 before rebranding to Vercel in April 2020. [2][3]
