Financial technology firm Abrigo has restored most of its Sageworks risk management application following an outage caused by irregular activity in its network environment, BleepingComputer reported. The company initiated emergency maintenance and took the platform offline on October 30 after detecting suspicious activity earlier that same day. [1]

The service interruption continued through the weekend before systems were brought back online. BleepingComputer reported that borrower-facing capabilities remain offline while the company continues its investigation. [1]

Abrigo was founded in 1998 as Sageworks and is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. The private financial information company provides software for lending, risk management, and financial crime prevention to 2,400 financial institutions, including banks and credit unions. [3]

Financial technology platforms rely heavily on cloud services and data analytics to deliver digital software services. These environments must balance operational accessibility with strict regulatory compliance and cybersecurity protections. [4]
