Russian cloud services provider Yandex announced that drone attacks damaged three of its data centers between October 8 and October 11, BleepingComputer reported. The strikes forced the company to completely shut down two facilities and partially disable a third, leaving customers unable to access files stored on its cloud infrastructure. [1]

According to BleepingComputer, the affected facilities are located in Sasovo, Kaluga, and Vladimir. The Sasovo site was struck on October 8, followed by an attack on the Kaluga facility on October 9. The Vladimir data center was targeted on October 11. Operations at both the Sasovo and Vladimir sites have stopped completely, while the Kaluga facility remains only partially operational. [1]

The company traces its origins to the late 1980s when Arkady Volozh began developing search technologies. Volozh established Arkadia Company in 1990 to create document retrieval tools, which led to network and search developments at CompTek International. The Yandex search engine officially launched in September 1997. [3]
