A ransomware group named BYOD has claimed responsibility for a cyber attack against Trump Mobile, according to SC Media and Cybersecurity Insiders. CyberSecurityNews, Forbes, and All About Cookies report that customer data was stolen in the incident. [1][3][5][6][8]

The compromised records include customer details for 3,615 subscribers, shattered.io and Wccftech reported. Shattered.io noted that 3,615 records were leaked following the attack, while The Register reported that customer data was dumped online. Forbes also confirmed the breach exposed personal data belonging to thousands of customers. [4][8][9][10]

Straight Arrow reported that a representative interviewed a hacker involved in the intrusion. Following notification of the breach, Trump Mobile responded with a message stating that it had no team to handle the issue, according to Wccftech and inkl. Wccftech added that the company subsequently referred to the attackers as terrorists. [2][10][11]

The incident highlights vulnerabilities surrounding personal data and customer information held by mobile service providers. Hacking remains the most common method used in data breaches, which frequently target personal information to compromise user privacy. [12][14]
