France-based operators of Danfoss refrigeration controllers have reduced their exposure to the public internet by 71 percent over three days following an October 11 cyber attack, InfoSecurity Magazine reported. Researchers from Censys observed the rapid decrease in internet-exposed Danfoss StoreView devices across the country. StoreView systems serve as control panels for Danfoss refrigeration hardware, which was among the equipment targeted in the incident. [1]

As FTMQ Security reported earlier, the cyber attack began on October 11, 2026, and compromised store refrigeration units across multiple French supermarket chains, including Carrefour, Intermarché, and Coopérative U. Dominique Schelcher, the chief executive officer of Coopérative U, confirmed the incident on October 12. Technical teams have been working with external refrigeration specialists to restore normal store operations. [1][5]

France is a country in Western Europe that shares borders with Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Andorra, and Spain. The rapid disconnection of exposed Danfoss hardware indicates that French retail operators are attempting to secure their systems from further remote disruption. [1][2][4]
