Offensive security startup Armadin published a report on November 2 showing that 88% of critical and high-severity weaknesses found during live attack tests fell outside standard vendor advisories. InfoSecurity Magazine reported that the findings come from tests conducted on enterprise clients across nearly a dozen industries throughout the year. [1]

The tests used artificial intelligence to launch simulated attacks against live enterprise environments. InfoSecurity Magazine stated that the unidentified flaws included defects in custom software written directly by the clients themselves. Armadin did not specify the total number of findings or organizations represented in the data. [1]

Software defects that fail to validate input properly can lead to code injection exploits. In these attacks, an application mistakenly processes external data as executable commands, which can grant an attacker unauthorized access to restricted systems or lead to data breaches. [2]

The findings highlight ongoing visibility gaps in vulnerability management, as FTMQ Security reported earlier regarding critical flaws in industrial software that required dedicated advisories from security agencies. [1][3]
